8 TIPS TO PLAN YOUR DESTINATION WEDDING.

Organizing a destination wedding asks for creativity, planning, diplomacy and courage! It is quite easy to get lost in the process, forget some things or overlook others.

So we thought that it would be useful to give you 10 Tips of what you should consider when organizing your destination wedding:

1)  WEDDING WEB SITE

Create a wedding website.  You can send out a “save the date”card with the site domain name on it. This is an excellent manner to give directions,  a great way to organize out-of town guest and, at the same time,  tell your story to those who don't know it yet! Navigate in Internet, writing the words " wedding websites" and you will see a wide choice of templates, of which many are free. You can pick the one that you prefer and start working on your wedding site!

2)  FOLLOW TRADITIONS

Traditions are always special, and give a sense of uniqueness to a wedding. Find out if your families have a tradition that you could follow, something that your grandparents do, etc.. They will leave a sense of heritage and remembrance to your destination wedding. For example, in Guatemala, it is quite common to use "el lazo", which is a long beautifully woven rope , placed on their shoulders,  that unites the bride and groom during the ceremony.

3)  PICK TIMELESS COLORS & STYLES

When planning your wedding, remember to choose colors and styles that are timeless, or that you have always liked.  You really don’t want to feel embarrassed when opening your wedding album 15 years from now!

4)  HAVE A COLOR THEME

Choose a color theme that flatters the bride, colours that you feel comfortable with.

5)  YOUR WEDDING ON FRIDAY NIGHT

Why not consider choosing an alternate day of the week to have your wedding? Now days, Friday night weddings are becoming more and more popular.  It gives your guests more time to enjoy the location you are in, and get to know it better.  Also, it is easier to find place in the venues and restaurants or hotels.  Your wedding will be less stressed and more focused on you.

6) A LOGO FOR THE OCCASION

We suggest you create a wedding logo, something that identifies you as a couple. You can use it all throughout your wedding starting from your  "save the date" card

to the welcome bags you offer your guests.  You can even make an ice figure picturing your logo! Make sure that the logo you pick matches your personalities.

7)  YOUR WEDDING DRESS

Even if there really is no definite date when the bride should have her wedding dress, we always advise to have at least six months to order the perfect gown!

8)  DRESSES FOR THE BRIDESMAIDS

The best thing to do is that you pick the color and the fabric, and then let the bridesmaids pick their own style of dress.
