Convento Las Capuchinas? It is one of the main choices of our brides and grooms,! We can say it is the ideal venue where our brides and grooms, have either had the ceremony, the reception or both. This enchanting ruin is located in Antigua Guatemala, in Guatemala.
It is more than magical! A beautiful antique convent, now it has turned into a visiting site, where people can admire its elegant arches, strong columns and magical courtyards. With the permission of the town's council, wedding ceremonies can take place after 5 p.m. (if you don't want curious strangers peaking through out your ceremony). Of course, the booking, reserving, permission and the procedure to do the payment, is all done by us, I Do, Guatemala. We take care of all the paper work and the hectic work! You just make sure that you pick the right date, and that's it.
El Convento Capuchinas not only is lovely but has many different areas where you can have your destination wedding. Besides it majestic temple, it has also a lovely garden, a small circular atrium and a large atrium with its fountain. This various areas give the possibility of having a different number of guests without feeling that there's too much space, or too little!
The ruin has many roofed environments as well as open air ones, so if there's the possibility of rain, then the ceremony can take place in the roofed areas, without having to move the guests, as well as the decor to another place!
Capuchinas' temple is magnificent and has a built in stage, a lovely advantage for your musicians to be at! Also, besides the temple, there's a lovely garden, a small circular atrium and a large atrium with a fountain...all areas that are wonderful to decorate, giving a romantic and elegant touch to any destination wedding!
Many people often ask if it is of walking distance from hotels, or if it is easy to access. Actually there are quite a few hotels near by, from which you can reach the Convent quite easily. One of them is El Convento Boutique hotel, a very elegant and high standard colonial styled hotel. Another one is Casa Capuchinas, which is a cozy small hotel, decorated with good taste.
